*Friendship Home in Audubon, Iowa is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Registered Nurse (Quality Assurance/Compliance/Infection Control) to join our team!*In this role you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and accuracy of medical records and documentation as well as taking the lead on infection prevention within our long-term care facility. You will play a crucial part in maintaining compliance with industry standards and regulations. Your expertise will help us uphold the highest standards of patient care and safety.Duties include but are not limited to:
- Conduct thorough reviews of medical records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established guidelines.
- Identify areas of improvement in documentation practices.
- Reviews, monitors and ensures compliance with assigned policies and procedures.
- Partners with DON to develop, implement, and evaluate annual infection prevention goals and action plans.
- Oversee the operations of the infection prevention, epidemiology, industrial hygiene, and relevant safety programs.
- Develop comprehensive infection control policies and procedures based on guidelines from regulatory agencies such as the CDC and OSHA.
- Conduct regular training on topics and policies including hand hygiene, PPE use, environmental cleaning, waste management, and outbreak response.
Skills necessary to be successful in this position include:
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and documentation review processes.
- Experience working in a long-term care facility
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and public health policies and procedures.
- Ability to analyze complex information and provide actionable insights.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration with staff.
- Detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively and efficiently.
