Position Type: Community Education/Adult Basic Education InstructorDate Posted: 11/12/2024Location: Harmony Learning CenterPosition:Adult Education Instructor at Harmony Learning Center 24-25 IOne Year Only (1961 East County Road C in Maplewood ) Closes: until filled Schedule: Monday - Friday 9AM-1PM Salary: $34.12 per hour or above to be discussed with HR Position is not eligible for benefits Summary: Conducts appropriate level of instruction for adult students in the areas of Adult Basic Education, English as a Second Language in person beginner level ESL. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Instructs classes ranging from Reading skills, Writing, and English as a Second Language based on the instructors area of expertise; Participate in program planning/common planning activities with the assistance of the Coordinator and plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, goals and abilities of the adult student; Design lesson and curriculum plans; Maintains a classroom environment that is conducive to learning. Participate in program and staff development activities; Uses a variety of instructional methods, materials, and techniques. Including incorporating technology into teaching and learning; Monitor and record student attendance daily; Collaborate with staff to test students according to weekly NRS testing lists; Coordinate with Students to take appropriate assessments to use in counseling student in additional courses or tests the student will need to take to reach their goals; Ability to organize data to produce student reports, and maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date records; Evaluates students' progress regularly ; Counsels with students regarding instruction and program services; Other duties as requested by Coordinator. Work Environment: ISD 622 is a community collaborative dedicated to educating and empowering all learners to excel in our changing world. As an ABE Instructor in our learning environment, the individual will primarily work indoors in a classroom environment. An incumbent in this position must follow all ISD 622 safety procedures including wearing required personal protective equipment as required in these circumstances. Required Qualifications:
K-12 Teaching Licensure; Demonstrates a sincere desire to aid all students; Provide a positive behavioral atmosphere for students; Work cooperatively with individuals and teams; Willingness to use technology as part of curriculum; Excellent communication skills with people of diverse backgrounds including students and staff. Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Education Adult Basic Education Teaching Licensure; Previous Teaching Experience Experience and training in Adult Basic Education; ISD 622 Universal Competencies:
