Summary of Position MissionResponsible for First Article's as well as inspecting incoming parts to drawing specification. They will oversee inspecting finished firearms from outside vendors and in house to company standards. They will also manage cross training to help where the Quality needs are for that time.Responsibilities
- Conduct First Article Inspection of machined parts, castings and injected molded parts.
- Help run and program our CMM using PC-DMIS.
- Follow an inspection checklist and document findings for incoming inspection of received parts.
- Inspects firearms manufactured, assembled, or repaired in the manufacturing area or by outside vendors.
- Demonstrates solid understanding of firearm manufacturing requirements.
- Demonstrates complete understanding of firearm safety.
- Finds and documents any mistakes or problems associated with the items being inspected.
- Maintains exact records of all items inspected.
- Submits reports to the Quality Manager about quality and items inspected.
- Completes all required paperwork promptly and accurately.
- Explains and points out problems found to assemblers in a tactful manner for assemblers to learn how to correct their problems in the future to minimize mistakes.
- Trains new employees in the QC process to teach them what to look for when assembling firearms.
- Utilizes basic test equipment such as calipers, Rockwell Testers, and surface plate.
- Reads and follows simple blueprints and drawings with some GD&T knowledge.
- Aids in setting up inspection criteria.
- Progressively improves upon and supports acceptable inspection numbers by Company standards.
- Always stays on task with assigned duties.
- Adheres to all employment policies/safety policies/practices required by law/established by Company.
- Wear all necessary Personal Protective Equipment directed by the Company at all times.
- Immediately reports any maintenance and/or safety issues to supervisor.
- Demonstrates a cheerful outlook toward co-workers, other departments and the Company.
- Maintains respect, courtesy and professionalism towards all co-workers and the Company.
- Actively take part and support the 5S process within the work area daily.
- Protect the organization's value by keeping information confidential.
- Support and adhere to all ISO standards applicable to the Company.

- Ability to follow directions and prioritize accordingly.
Working ConditionsWork is normally performed in a climate-controlled office environment and throughout a heated manufacturing and warehouse facility. Exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, poor ventilation, fumes and gases is very limited. Noise level is moderate and includes sounds of light manufacturing, shipping and receiving, and normal office equipment (computers, telephones, etc.). No known environmental hazards are encountered in normal performance of job duties.
