The shift hours are 7 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with overtime as required by buisiness needs. This position will perform various functions of inspection to assure product conformance adhering to the safety, quality and quantity standards of Timken Aurora Bearing Company.
Essential Responsibilities - Sets and uses all gauges required to perform inspections.
- Documents and files records of all inspections.
- Reads and deciphers blue prints used to verify product conformance.
- Reviews and approves certifications received from suppliers to applicable requirements.
- Performs receiving inspection duties of component parts and final assembly.
- Performs analysis of returned goods.
- Inspects and approves master gages for manufacturing.
- Analyzes product by use of microscopic equipment.
- Moves parts to and from work area and scales as needed. Performs weigh-counting on electronic scale to ensure count accuracy.
Education & Experience - Strong communication skills and people oriented.
- Able to handle multiple competing tasks and priorities and perform quality work efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Takes a proactive approach in anticipating, identifying, and solving problems and makes necessary changes so problems do not occur in the future.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing quality role
- Experience with various gauging equipment such as, but not limited to, micrometers, calipers, bore plugs, thread plugs, thread rings, air gauges, Sunnen gauges, optical comparatos, hardness testers, surface analyzer, plating thickness equipment, radial and axial clearance gauges.
