With a passion for and unparalleled understanding of naturals, together with boundless creativity and market insight, allows Robertet to provide their customers with world class innovation in scent and taste.SUMMARY: The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for leading the quality assurance program at our manufacturing facility. This includes working with customers, suppliers, corporate office, and manufacturing staff. Responsibilities include but are not limited to maintenance and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System to meet ISO 9001 & 22716, NSF/ANSI 455-3 requirements, Organic, Kosher, HACCP, GMP, GFSI, and FSMA requirements. Responsible for the communication of quality standards to plant personnel, training, leading on-site and remote quality audits and supporting corrective action plan development, coordination of validation and verification activities and facilitating continuous improvement initiatives. This position reports to Sr. Director of QualityESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for maintaining and improving the current quality management system.
  • Ensures all quality procedures and processes are followed according to documented policies. Accountable for all defined QA responsibilities as defined by ISO 9001 standards.
  • Owns the Customer Complaint Management process, facilitates the investigation and ensures accountability of the stakeholders and that corrective actions are adequate and effective to address the root causes.
  • Timely respond to customer complaints in a formal document.
  • Lead and develop the QA team to deliver unparalleled customer service
  • Design and implement quality assurance training programs.
  • Stay abreast of local, federal and international Quality and Food Safety standards and regulations pertaining to manufacturing, selling and shipping business to business goods.
  • Ensure awareness and compliance with quality and Food Safety standards, including cGMP requirements and foster industry standard best practices.
  • Promote a culture of Right the first Time with Exceptional Customer Experience in Mind through awareness and recognition programs.
  • Assess incoming material sampling plans and adapt them to ensure compliance with our quality standards, minimize time and cost of inspection, and contribute to the quality of the finished product.
  • Promote Safety behaviors and be a sponsor of the Safety and Food Safety and Quality observation Team and an active observations contributor.
  • Formulate and maintain quality objectives, coordinates facility objectives and aligns with corporate objectives in cooperation with the leadership team to maximize safety, product quality and minimize costs.
  • Utilize statistical data analysis for troubleshooting continuous quality improvement initiatives as appropriate.
  • Coordinates and participates in mock recalls.
  • Provides technical support to operations. Ensure accuracy, actively participates and timely completion of customer surveys, questionnaires, acknowledgments, agreements.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all products manufactured by the plant as well as the raw materials, packaging materials, and operations required in the manufacturing process including quality specifications and standards.
  • Lead 'best in class behaviors with focus on safety, Food Safety, Quality assurance, and facility's regulatory compliance.
  • Perform supplier risk assessments and risk-based supplier audits
  • Monitor and assess economically motivated risks of materials purchased.
  • Support initiatives and other projects assigned

  • Knowledge of Quality and Food Safety (HACCP principals, cGMPs, SOPs and SSOPs, Pest Control, Allergen Control & Recall programs).
  • Foster Improvement and Innovation - Understand and assess the current way of working and identify opportunities for improvement, quantify the improvement and prioritize implementation. Encourage innovation and problem-solving to optimize operational efficiency.
QUALIFICATIONS: Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry / food sciences-related areas.
  • Demonstrated experience managing ISO 9001 and/ or 22716 and/or NSF/ANSI 455-3 Quality systems.
  • 3 years' minimum experience working directly with customers, suppliers, authority inspectors and third party / customer auditors.
  • 3 years minimum experience directing, coaching, and leading a team as well as planning, prioritizing and assigning workloads.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills both orally and written.
  • Knowledge of FDA standards and FSMA Regulations.
  • HACCP Certification
Preferred:
  • Certified Preventive Controls Qualified Individual a plus but not required
  • Prefer SQF Practitioner Certification is a plus but not required
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of statistical process control, quality assurance techniques and tools and quality management principles in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong PC proficiency to include Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Working knowledge of statistical software programs is a plus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Work is carried out in an industrial environment.
  • Occasional traveling is needed to affiliate facilities, customer or supplier sites
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to mild odors.
  • The employee will be required to wear all appropriate safety equipment including but not limited to eye protection, steel-toed shoes, lab coat.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • This is a largely sedentary role that requires frequent standing and walking
  • Occasionally stair climbing is needed.
