Job SummaryThe Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for overseeing and maintaining quality control procedures and programs to ensure that customer expectations are consistently met. This role reports directly to the Operations Manager and has a dotted line reporting relationship to the Corporate Director of Quality Management.Job Responsibilities
- Inspection Procedures: Verify that inspection procedures used by all personnel are accurate and compliant with established quality control standards
- Team Management: Lead and manage a team of quality professionals to ensure that parts meet all customer specifications.
- Quality Standards: Maintain and update quality control standards and procedures, ensuring that all relevant personnel are informed and compliant
- ISO Compliance: Support the management team in maintaining ISO 9001 compliance and assist during ISO and customer audits
- Material Inspection: Oversee the inspection of incoming and outgoing materials to confirm that specifications are met
- Corrective Actions: Evaluate rejected material (both internal and external) and manage the corrective action system to reduce nonconformances and waste
- PPAP Submissions: Manage Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submissions to customers and ensure all requirements are satisfied
- Training Programs: Develop and implement programs to educate, train, and update all personnel on quality control procedures
- Gage Calibration: Manage the gage calibration system, ensuring that all gages are properly calibrated and maintained
- Inspection Technology: Integrate new inspection technologies to enhance accuracy and efficiency in the inspection process
- Other Duties: Perform additional duties as assigned by the Operations Manager or Corporate Director of Quality Management
Qualifications
- Problem-Solving and SPC Experience: Advanced skills in problem solving and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Experience: 8-10 years of experience in a quality management role, preferably within the metal fabrication industry
- Degree: 4-year college degree or equivalent, preferably with a technical or engineering focus
- Industry Experience: 8-10 years of experience in the metal fabrication industry
- Team Management: Experience in hiring, developing, and managing a team of quality professionals
- Blueprint Reading: Excellent ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Metrology Skills: Proficient in using measurement tools such as calipers, height gauges, protractors, etc
- GD&T Skills: Strong knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- CMM Experience: Experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM)
- Technical Skills: Strong computer and technical skills
- ISO-9001 Knowledge: Familiarity with the ISO-9001 standard
- Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical abilities for assessing and resolving quality issues
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to Detail: High attention to detail in all aspects of work
- Organization and Time Management: Exceptional organizational and time management skills
- Reliability: Demonstrated reliable work history
- Attention to Detail: Must be detail-oriented with a strong focus on precision and quality in all inspection tasks
