Job Description:
- The Quality Manager (QM) promotes a culture of quality and ongoing improvement throughout the organization. The QM will establish and implement strategic objectives that align with overall company goals. This role will oversee and enhance the quality of the company's products and services by applying ISO 9001 quality standards, problem-solving methodologies, preventative measures, and continuous improvement strategies. The Quality Manager serves as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on all aspects of risk management related to the company's brand, products, and services, while also acting as an advocate for the customer. This role interacts regularly with all functional departments, as well as with customers, business development teams, regulatory bodies, corporate management, and suppliers.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Lead Quality Engineering and Inspection activities, supporting all business processes and developing, implementing, and managing Quality Control Systems, including quality planning, compliance tracking, and validation.
- Address and resolve technical issues, ensure effective tactical execution, and create and implement the strategic vision for the Quality department. Offer alternative or innovative methods for solving quality challenges.
- Develop and establish company policies, operating procedures, and objectives.
- Participate in the project management life cycle and bidding process, including assessing program and supplier quality efforts to ensure customer requirements are fulfilled.
- Work closely with Program Teams, Functional Departments, Suppliers, and Customer Representatives to ensure all phases of the product life cycle meet customer expectations.
- Create, gather, and assess key quality metrics to identify trends, manage and improve yields, and minimize rework. Report to senior leadership on business performance, including improvement plans and the status of strategic quality initiatives.
- Oversee certification and compliance efforts for ISO 9001:2018 and other necessary certifications. Lead the transition to new ISO 9001 Quality Standards upon release, driving organizational transformation.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM-related field or technical equivalent with a minimum of 12 years of related experience.
- Experience in Quality Management or Operations Leadership.
- Self-driven, collaborative approach with a proven ability to inspire others across a multi-functional team to achieve timely outcomes.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal abilities, including communication, facilitation, consulting, coaching, and influencing.
- Capability to read, evaluate, and interpret complex policy or technical documents.
Preferred Qualifications:
- ASQ Certification, such as Certified Manager of Quality/Operational Excellence (CMQ/OE), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), or Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB). Other certifications may also be considered.
- FCC GROL (Ground-Based Radiotelephone Operator's License).
- Experience with Configuration Control Management practices.
- Proficiency in program scheduling, prioritization, and critical path management.
- Familiarity with J-STD and/or IPC Standards implementation.
- Willingness to travel internationally.
- Active security clearance.
