Quality Assurance Manager - Salary, Exempt $75,000 - $95,000 POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Assistant Plant Manager, this position is responsible managing the QA/QC Department and personnel. Ensuring quality control & quality assurance of production and products through the process control inspection, documentation verification; and is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Maintain accurate up-to-date archive of all pertinent QA/QC documents related to all aspects upon the manufacturing & packaging side of operational production demands.
- Checks each production line periodically (daily) to assure product meets correct specifications for color and size. Notifies machine operator when product does not meet specifications.
- Reports any changes in raw materials.
- Trains other laboratory QA/QC personnel with specific operational experience, when needed.
- Maintains accurate records of materials tested and prepares reports as required.
- Assists in training of production plant personnel.
- Issues new mix designs, additive, and mix changes. Ensure all Supervisors have all updated mix designs.
- Maintains electronic recordkeeping and filing of QA/QC in TechCon and Labcon.
- Evaluates all secondary operations (Deco Rock, Tumbling, Splitting, Cutting and Grinding).
- Communicates daily with Quality staff, Manufacturing Supervisors, Plant Superintendents, and Plant Manager as needed regarding testing and new products.
- Must be able to learn and navigate in SAP.
- Performs all other duties and responsibilities assigned from time to time by the company or its designated representative.
- Work with Independent Companies on proprietary toll blending and testing of specialty dry mix products. Works with Independent testing agencies for certifications.
- Perform annual reviews for direct reports in SuccessFactors (HRIS), engage in employee development and discipline as applicable.
- Manage employees within state guidelines for breaks, lunches, etc. and apply best practice as it relates to labor, parts and maintenance spending.
- Work with HR for recruiting and hiring assistance.
- Responsible for monitoring and approving employee actions in EC (HRIS) in a timely manner.
- Responsible for running time data audit report of recorded time and errors and track attendance via payroll system (UKG Kronos).
- Act as backup for subordinate positions as needed.
- Attend safety meetings and abide by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies; ensure that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
- Predictable and Regular attendance is required.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Associate degree or equivalent combination of experience.
- Requires one to three years of experience in a manufacturing laboratory environment.
- Must become CMHA Certified.
- Must obtain Basalite Forklift Certification.
- On-the-job training experience is required to be able to perform duties.
- Requires strong computer / MS Office (excel) knowledge and software application skills.
- Working knowledge of the operations of a 10-key adding machine, copier, facsimile machine and any other office equipment required to perform duties.
- Proven ability to coach, guide and lead subordinates.
- Suggested coursework in Mathematics and Chemistry.
- Requires excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to multi-task responsibilities.
- Must be able to receive and give direction equally & demonstrate patience with current and new employees.
- Must be a self-starter and work effectively in a team-based environment.
- Predictable and Regular attendance is required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing and entering data.
