Job Description About the Role The quality assurance position monitors the assurance program and provides guidance to the Fort Bliss team at Ft. Bliss, TX. This assignment is for duration of the WD. Responsibilities to Anticipate for this role
  • Defines and monitors mission assurance program specifications and processes, to ensure the success of all programs for the Fort Bliss Team;
  • Performs or assures quality, risk management, safety, reliability and maintainability of program achievements, subcontractors and suppliers in accordance with contractual requirements;
  • Quality Assurance Representative for the Fort Bliss Team that is responsible for the installation, inspecting, instruction and troubleshooting of military vehicles;
  • Act as the primary safety representative for the Fort Bliss Team, as well as development of safety practices and procedures;
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Must be able to travel as required to support GDLS Ft. Hood maintenance, fielding and retrofit activities for both State-side and International GDLS requirements.
Qualifications Sought
  • Must have three (3) or more years of maintenance experience on family of Abrams Vehicles.
  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • Acquired knowledge of GDLS processes, products and military technology;
  • Maintaining a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers at all times, and knowing our product inside and out so that you can answer questions.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Abrams diagnostic and troubleshooting for all variants as well as navigate Electronic Technical Manuals (ETM).
  • Familiar with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) applications and procedures;
  • Able to secure and maintain a NACI and United States Passport, if required;
  • Must be a U.S. person;
  • Able to interpret Environmental Health & Safety standards, conduct internal audits and monitor compliance;
  • Requires minimal supervision and capable of working independently with minimal errors;
  • Excellent communication skills along with professional demeanor that extends to all levels of the organization;
  • Able to present a professional presentation to a small audience (1-10 people) clearly and succinctly;
  • Fluent with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) applications;
  • Provide input to program planning and schedules;
  • Must have a valid State Driver's License and be able to obtain a military license and meet the anthropometric requirements to entry into a driver's station or into an enclosed military vehicle;
  • Required to work at various heights, lift and carry up to 50 pounds, able to climb, work in enclosed spaces - often in awkward positions, work in extreme temperatures, dusty environments and multiple shifts.
Additional Information / Desired Experience
  • This position may require eligibility to obtain a US security clearance. (Non-US Citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance)
  • Previous experience working on ground combat Vehicles desired.
  • Must be able to work occasional evening and/or weekend overtime as required
  • Familiarity with military standards and test requirements desired.
