POSITION SUMMARY

The Quality Assurance Sanitation Specialist is responsible for carrying out sanitation of all food processing equipment throughout the facility.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Cleaning and sanitizing food processing equipment in accordance with company guidelines.

  • Facilitating the sanitation breakdown procedures of equipment at different steps in the manufacturing process.

  • Remove raw materials from the equipment before cleaning using sanitation chemicals.

  • Assist in the monitoring of chemical handling and dispensing.

  • Perform visual inspections and microbiological testing on post sanitized equipment to assure quality standards are met.

  • Immediately report sanitation and production deficiencies to appropriate personnel.

  • Train team members on sanitation duties and CIP requirements.

  • Perform other sanitation tasks and duties assigned by Company leadership.

  • Must be able to work overtime and weekends as required.

  • Upholds and participates in all Corporate Responsibility programming including recycling, social advocacy and MMAD volunteering opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience with Clean-In-Place (CIP) Systems.

  • Chemical usage training and sanitation training. HAZMAT experienced a plus.

  • Food Manufacturing experience a plus.

  • Able to read and understand a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for chemicals.

  • Applicants must have the ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and basic mathematical functions.

  • Must obtain forklift certification upon job placement.

  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
