When we contribute to the company's success, we all win.In our organization, the Quality Assurance Specialist I has a critical and challenging role in helping achieve innovation and meeting our commitmentsPOSITION SUMMARY:To provide primary interface in determining customer, supplier and internal quality requirements to ensure products conform to the purchase order, drawings, specifications, and contract requirements of Oil States.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist department heads in the development, implementation and maintenance of the ISO 9001:2015 quality management system.
  • Assist in contract review and development of quality plans and inspection and test plans.
  • Assist in review of purchase requisitions and purchase orders to assure applicable quality requirements are specified in accordance with contract specifications and quality plan requirements.
  • Perform internal and external quality audits.
  • Review and approve internal and external Process Control Plans.
  • Attend OSI Witness / Hold Points specified in Quality / Process Control Plans at supplier manufacturing / test locations.
  • Maintain close liaison with the Quality Manager, the Project Engineer, the Program / Project Manager, and Purchasing in order to keep them informed on any quality problems or possible work stoppages.
  • Coordinate supplier witness and hold points with customer representatives / DNV / ABS.
  • Submit reports on the status of hardware at supplier facilities as required by Quality Manager or Program Manager.
  • Provide technical guidance and direction to external providers on issues related to product quality.
  • Investigate causes of defects and evaluate corrective and preventive action for both internal and external product complaints.
  • Provide input and assist in maintaining the Supplier Rating system.
  • Uses and helps maintain the NCR/CAR/Par system including disposition and closure of corrective actions plans.
  • Prepare customer required documentation; data books, compliance/conformance certifications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor's degree in a related field with 0-2 years of quality experience; an Associate's degree in a related field with at least two (2) years of experience in quality control; or a high school diploma or equivalent with at least four (4) years of experience in quality control.
  • General knowledge of ISO quality requirements.
  • Experience using basic measuring instruments.
  • Nondestructive evaluation (NDE) experience a plus.
  • Experience using a document control database. Experience using Master Control a plus
  • Intermediate mathematical capabilities, including statistics.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Use of a computer, phone and other office equipment, including copier/scanner, etc.
  • Light to moderate physical effort may be required such as bending, stooping, reaching, walking, climbing, etc.
  • Lifting up to 30 pounds without assistance, over 30 pounds with assistance
  • Prolonged sitting or standing
  • Must pass visual acuity test
  • Some travel, including potential international travel.
