Job Description:
Goal for Quality Assurance Specialist role in User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Planning: Supporting the testing team in creating acceptance test plans, including: o Identifying users for testing o Creating a separate test plan for each user type o Including business scenarios, normal cases, special cases, and error cases Supporting users: Walking users through the testing environment, scenarios, and acceptance criteria Clarifying requirements: Providing clarifications on system requirements Obtaining sign-off: Sending a sign-off email to the user after UAT testing is complete Validating requirements: Ensuring that the system meets the requirements in a business background Getting feedback: Getting direct feedback from end users Identifying defects: Documenting any defects found in the system as bugs Resolving defects: Making sure that defects are resolved and re-tested Working with developers: Working with developers and testers to identify ways that UAT can be done earlier Essential skills:1. Understanding of Migration Processes: Knowledge of data migration, application migration, and the specific challenges associated with moving systems.2. Testing Methodologies: Proficiency in various testing techniques, including functional testing, regression testing, performance testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).3. Automation Skills: Familiarity with test automation tools and frameworks to streamline testing processes.4. Scripting and Programming: Basic knowledge of programming or scripting languages to create automated tests and troubleshoot issues.5. Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze requirements, identify potential issues, and assess risk factors.6. Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail to catch errors and discrepancies during the testing phase.7. Documentation Skills: Ability to create clear and comprehensive test plans, test cases, and reports.8. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with developers, project managers, and stakeholders.9. Problem-Solving Skills: Capability to identify problems quickly and propose effective solutions.10. Familiarity with Tools: Experience with QA tools such as JIRA, Selenium, QTP, or other relevant software for tracking defects and managing test cases.11. Database Knowledge: Understanding of database management and query languages (like SQL) to verify data integrity post-migration.12. Agile Methodologies: Knowledge of Agile practices, especially if the project follows Agile methodologies.13. User-Centric Approach: Ability to consider end-user experience and requirements during testing.14. Continuous Learning: Willingness to stay updated with the latest QA practices and technologies. Work experience: 3 to 5 years of experience Domain knowledge: Criminal Justice or Law Enforcement preferable Education: Bachelor's in criminal justice preferable
