NSI-MI Technologies is seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to support our mission of delivering innovative products of the highest quality to our customers. The successful candidate will support all aspects of Quality Assurance activities and will collaborate closely with the manager in examining the quality of our operational methodologies and provide solutions to problems. This will include auditing tasks, job functions and compiling supporting data for analysis. The candidate will follow and validate work in process on the manufacturing floor and will assist in rating and ranking suppliers. The Specialist will analyze operational databases to identify problems, provide trend analysis, and formulate solutions. The candidate will support the following areas: incoming inspections, documentation and change management processes, responding to customer requests for Quality data.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Include the following and other duties as assigned.
- Support the Quality Manager in documenting existing processes and defining new processes and procedures.
- Examine work methodologies and identify improvement areas in the QMS. Suggest procedural fixes to process and efficiency problems.
- Examine and track non-conformances and corrective actions. This will include maintaining the systems, training personnel, and monitoring the proper use of the tools.
- Participate in the material review boards.
- Participate in quality improvement teams.
- Manage the calibration system.
- Provide support to the staff by extracting and analyzing quality data from the systems.
- Participate in the company safety program.
Required Skills: - ISO 9001 knowledge and purpose of the system. Must have experience supporting a QMS within a production facility environment.
- Knowledge of Configuration Management: BOM structuring, item definition etc.
- Knowledge of Manufacturing process and its relation to ERP systems
- Knowledge of documentation control systems
- Proficient with Excel and Word
- Exceptional critical thinking skills.
- Ability to create procedures and work instructions.
- Ability to read drawings and decipher specifications.
- Knowledge and use of metrology
- Must have a good attitude and exceptional communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
Desirable skills: - Experience in planning, purchasing and stockroom.
- Experience in incoming test and inspection
- Experience in Kepner-Tregoe, Six-Sigma, DMAIC, 8D
- Domestic travel - LA and to vendors for assessment and or quality inspection
