Please visit our website to learn more about our delicious French crêpes, golden croissants, fluffy pancakes, and our large range of outstanding French brioches.Scope/Purpose of the Position The Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for continuously seeking improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency while ensuring that Food Safety & Quality (FS&Q) programs, policies, and procedures are effectively implemented and monitored. This role involves developing a high-performing team of quality assurance technicians, fostering a strong food safety and quality culture, and prioritizing tasks based on criticality to not only meet but exceed internal and customer expectations in a fast-paced environment.Requirements Essential Responsibilities and Functions Core Values Expectations:•Lead and cultivate a quality-driven culture among employees and leaders.•Drive continuous improvement using data-driven analysis.•Ensure accountabilities for all aspects of quality assurance.Leadership:•Lead QA technicians in professional development, goal setting, task completion, training, problem-solving, and timecard approval management.•Monitor and verify the implementation and effectiveness of FS&Q Systems.•Foster a collaborative environment where everyone is accountable for quality, ensuring first-time accuracy through planning, implementing process improvements, and addressing unfavorable trends.•Perform other duties as assigned.Food Safety and Quality Programs / Operation Support:•Facilitate external audits by assisting with compliance records, plant tours, and addressing product safety and quality queries.•Conduct internal audits, generate action registers for non-compliances, and manage the CAPA database for verification and effectiveness.•Assist in investigating root causes of customer complaints and non-conformances, ensuring timely documentation and closure of corrective actions.•Support R&D, PNP, and other departments on special projects.•Evaluate and update departmental SOPs for accuracy and efficiency.Product Evaluation and Disposition:•Supervise daily FS&Q checks, validate against specifications, and manage products on hold.•Determine appropriate and timely dispositions of products based on quality analysis.•Establish material traceability and manage hold procedures.•Oversee the site's equipment calibration program.GMP-Sanitation:•Manage and monitor environmental samples and utilities in the GMP environment.•Conduct monthly Sanitation/GMP and pest control walkthroughs with QA and Area Managers.•Serve as the primary contact for third-party pest control, chemical suppliers, and microbiological labs.•Facilitate plant sanitation programs, assess risk-based food safety, prioritize corrective actions, and ensure chemical control program effectiveness.•Manage the glass and brittle plastic audit program.Job Requirements Critical thinking skill, analytical and problem-solving skill, and a continuous improvement mindset.Ability to multitask and have excellent time management skills.Have flexibility when new priorities arise and have a depth of knowledge in quality.Effective verbal, written, interpersonal and presentation communications skills.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and systems.Ability to create work documents, identify trends and configuring metrics.Thorough understanding of GMP, SOP's, FDA regulations.Must work on process level and eventually organizational level. Physical Requirements •Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or climb (including stairs/ladders).•Ability to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.•Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.•Ability to work in a warm and cold environment.•Physical dexterity necessary to handle supplies, machine parts and tools. •Vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in food science, chemistry, microbiology, life sciences or equivalent preferred.Minimum 3-5 years of supervisory work experience in Quality Assurance for a food manufacturing or related area.
