Title: Technical QA Lead
Location: NYC (Remote)
Job Type: Long-term Contract
Rate: $70-80/hour
Description:
The Technical QA Lead will work closely with technical teams, including the Data team, to manage and deliver QA and Data Quality projects. Responsibilities include understanding QA requirements, implementing QA controls, data reporting, and establishing data quality foundations. The role involves overseeing QA processes, converting project specifications into test plans, and managing QA execution from start to finish. Proficiency with tools like Jira, DevOps, Confluence, Asana, Collibra, and Monte Carlo is required. This is a hands-on position within a Data and Analytics organization.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the entire QA execution process.
- Create tools, best practices, and documentation for the QA team.
- Ensure timely completion of QA workstreams by managing QA activities.
- Contribute to the establishment of standard QA processes.
- Translate project specifications into detailed test plans.
- Utilize QA expertise and strong data querying skills to analyze data, evaluate current states, and effectively communicate issues and opportunities.
- Promote continuous improvement and encourage team input on innovative ideas.
- Lead weekly meetings with key stakeholders to define QA scope, objectives, resource allocation, and schedules.
Qualifications:
- 7-10+ years of technical QA experience.
- 2-5 years of QA project leadership experience.
- Proven experience as a QA team lead with the ability to manage and provide direction.
- Capable of effectively managing multiple QA projects simultaneously.
- Strong SQL skills are required.
- Strong knowledge of data management and different modern data technologies in cloud.
- Ability to understand the data, recognize issues within the data, contribute to solutioning, and support testing efforts.
- UI/UX experience is a plus
- Experience using visual tools to ensure transparency in tracking key QA milestones.
- Experience with various project methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Scrum, Hybrid).
- Management of QA and Development resources in a matrixed environment.
- BA/BS degree required. Degree in Computer Science is preferred.
