YOUR OPPORTUNITYWe have an exciting quality assurance technician opportunity in our Guymon, Oklahoma processing facility. In this highly impactful role, you will be an essential food safety and quality team member for a pork processing facility harvesting over 21,000 animals per day. This position is responsible for inspecting products at different steps in the process to ensure that production adheres to all product specifications, food safety protocols, and good manufacturing practices, along with all state and federal regulations associated with food manufacturing. RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct routine, scheduled audits, inspections for quality checks, and food safety checks to ensure production complies with federal, state, and Company policies and procedures.
  • Perform visual line and finished product inspections to ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Perform various specialized tasks as assigned or required by the department.
  • Place tags to hold or reject products, materials, or equipment not meeting specifications.
  • Notify supervisors or other personnel of problems or stop production if serious product defects occur.
  • Monitor (GMPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Critical Control Points (CCPs).

  • Bachelor's degree in a science, engineering, or related discipline with two (2) years of progressively responsible positions or five (5) years of progressively responsible positions in the protein industry.
  • Must have comprehensive knowledge of current and application of USDA and FSIS directives and regulatory requirements.
  • Must have adequate experience to demonstrate thorough knowledge, skills, and abilities of both commercial and technical aspects of FSQA for the pork business.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move around the facility and primarily will be on the production floor.
  • The employee must regularly lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • This position is primarily on the production floor and will have limited office time.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration.
  • The noise level in the work environment requires you to wear hearing protection at all times on the production floor.
  • The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. After-hours, weekends, and overnight travel as requested.
