Brasscraft has set the plumbing standard for 70 years, with industry leading brands including BrassCraft®, Plumbshop®, and Cobra®.POSITION SUMMARY: The Quality Technician will assist the Quality Supervisor with determining allowable variations, dispositioning of material rejected by primary manufacturing, and training Auditors in procedures, blueprint reading, and related measuring instruments. In addition, this role will also perform product and maintain records relating to liability testing.PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Makes safety the number one priority by leading by example, addressing unsafe conditions & behaviors, and supporting safety improvement initiatives
  • Supports continuous improvement by participating in events and submitting opportunities for improvements
  • Performs observation of in-process manufacturing and determines adherence to established quality standards
  • Evaluates quality assurance procedures; proposes improvements and solutions to existing procedures or develops new procedures as needed
  • Evaluates and dispositions defective material
  • Coordinates activities with auditors and assist auditors when needed
  • Perform SPC data collection / analyzer programming
  • Perform product reliability testing
  • Calibrate gages and maintain a gage database and calibration records
  • Maintains history of general maintenance/repairs of inspection equipment in plant
  • Performs other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 5 years of experience in a Quality Assurance role; 2+ years' relevant experience in Metal Machining / Forming
  • General knowledge / use and calibration of all types of Metrology Equipment (micrometers, calipers, height gages, profilometers, hardness testing, optical comparators, vision systems, attribute/variable gaging)
  • Familiarity with threads (straight & tapered) and gaging practices
  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office (outlook, excel, word, and power point)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized and self-motivated with the ability to take ownership of areas of responsibility
  • Must be flexible and able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
PEREFRRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Ability to operate / program specialized quality lab equipment
  • Familiarity with the plumbing industry and products
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Associates Degree / ASQ Certified Quality Technician (Preferred)
