Quality Assurance Technician

In this position you will work under the Quality Manager to ensure that your plant is compliant with the company's quality standards for the manufacture of truck and trailer components.

Primary Responsibilities:
* Perform hourly inspections of in-process fabricated and welded parts and assemblies using hand measuring tools.
* Perform necessary destructive physical analysis (DPA's) and nondestructive examinations and evaluations (NDE's) as needed.
* Perform regular inspections of vendor supplied fabricated and welded assemblies.
* Conduct quality audits, troubleshoot quality notices, and address quality concerns.
* Assist in communicating engineering change notifications and engineering deviation approvals to team members on the manufacturing floor.
* Work directly with plant management and supervision, ensuring execution of corrective actions for quality concerns.
* Work on continuous improvement of the quality standards in the plant.
* Provide quality alerts and review modifications to team members on the manufacturing floor.
* Understand and comply with OSHA regulations and company safety policy.
Minimum Qualification:
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Ability to interpret fabrication and welding blueprints.
* Ability to use various measuring devices including tape measure, adjustable square, calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
* Manufacturing plant experience, including quality inspection.
* Knowledge of or ability to learn visual welding inspection processes.
* Regular attendance is essential.
Work Environment:
The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, machines, fumes, or irritating chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing, or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields.
Physical Demands:
The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods both indoors and outdoors of remaining stationery, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 lbs. assisted or unassisted.
