Piqua is a community of 22,000, which offers a friendly, small-town atmosphere yet is still an easy drive to Dayton, Columbus and Cincinnati.Job Summary Hartzell Propeller seeks a Quality Assurance Technician to operate to, continuously improve, and implement proper Quality Assurance policies and procedures for our manufacturing facilities.Key Deliverables 1) Manage quality databases for the manufacturing facilities2) Identify areas in the business where quality documentation is missing or needs improvement; draft the documents as identified3) Review and approve documentation utilized in the quality system4) Certify trained employees for specific job functions5) Perform gage calibration at all facilities6) Draft receiving, in process, and final inspection plans and lay-up sheets7) Determine conformity issues stemming from out of calibration gages, perform corrective actions for non-conforming gages, and purchase replacement gages8) Audit internally to AS9100 and FAA requirementsRequirementsEducation/Experience High school diploma or equivalent; 5 years' experience in a quality role.Technical Competencies 1) Excellent verbal and written communication skills2) Proficient Computer Skills (MS-Office)3) Layout Inspection - Ability to inspect parts utilizing manual gage - understand inspection instructions4) Inspection Methods - Understanding of manual gauging, CMM inspection, and new automated technology5) Print Reading - Ability to read and interpret blueprints, datum structures, and process dimensions6) GD&T - Ability to read and interpret GD&T symbols and callouts7) Root Cause Analysis - Ability to develop a plausible root cause and implement effective corrective action8) Raw Material Processing - Ability to understand the processing of raw materials (castings vs. forgings...etc.)9) Materials - Basic understanding of material characteristics (Aluminum, Steel, Titanium, Composite...etc.)10) Process Flow Diagrams - Ability to create and maintain a Process Flow DiagramBehavioral Characteristics 1) Adaptability - Maintains effectiveness when experiencing major changes in the work tasks or the work environment; adjusts effectively to work within new work structures, processes, requirements or cultures.2) Continuous Learning - Actively identifies new areas for learning; regularly creates and takes advantage of learning opportunities; uses newly gained knowledge and skill on the job and learning through their application.3) Contributes to Team Success - Actively participates as a member of a team to move the team toward the completion of goals.4) Initiates action - Takes prompt action to accomplish objectives; takes action to achieve goals beyond what is required; is proactive with a results driven approach.5) Time Management - Effectively managing one's time and resources to ensure that work is completed efficiently.
