Job Summary : The Quality Assurance Tester's role is a dynamic role where a strong business understanding of Personal Lines and Commercial Insurance is used in both pre-production and production support situations. An ideal candidate for a QA position can translate highly technical requirements or defect analyses into detailed, yet, easy to follow, test plans. Quality Analysts will also need to draw on customer service skills to support the business customers by triaging production issues, providing updates on issues and translating any known workarounds to the business in customer-friendly terminology. Job Responsibilities / Functions : Ability to interpret business requirements and translate requirements into testing scenarios Execute system/integration user-acceptance test plans Review and analyze testing plans executed by vendor QC teams to ensure accuracy Work as an active member of Systems Team, communicating the status of testing activities, providing testing results and be adaptable to changing priorities Follow processes that ensure all tests are conducted and documented according to the agreed upon standards Report issues/bugs and provide necessary supporting documentation to vendors Conduct periodic regression test plans to ensure systems continue to perform according to expectations Look for opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness of testing practices Assist in Production Support activities, including by not limited to: triage of new reported issues, working with business users to understand any points of clarification, and having a sound understanding on when to escalate items that have a critical impact on the business. Communicate with co-workers, management, clients, vendors, and others in a courteous and professional manner. Participates in special projects or releases as assigned. Maintains the integrity of the company and products offered by complying with federal and state regulations as well as company policies and procedures. Requirements: Ability to work under pressure of shifting priorities and within tight deadlines while maintaining a strong attention to detail Ability to prioritize many different tasks Demonstrates proven abilities to work well in both a project team and individual setting Contributes to a positive working environment by building solid relationships with team members and other key business players Proactively seeks guidance, clarification and feedback from management and peers Demonstrates proven abilities that include creative thinking and problem-solving skills Communicating in an organized and knowledgeable manner through both written and verbal formats including delivering clear requests for information, communicating potential conflicts, and simplifying fixes, workarounds or business requests. Understanding of Personal and Commercial lines of insurance products (preferable throughout the whole lifecycle of a policy: New Business, Endorsements, Claims, Billing, etc.) Skills in conflict resolution Ability to follow best practices in testing Proven skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint,) Outlook and any ticketing management software.
