Quality Assurance Thermal Spray TechnicianWe are looking for a Thermal Spray Technician for our Westbury NY facility. In this role you will, operate under the jurisdiction of the Quality Assurance team to ensure the performative quality of manufactured powder products. The person in this role conducts thermal spray testing in accordance with internal specifications. Quality spray testing is conducted on powders produced in Materials Production and Engineering departments that are required for product release. This includes wearing a respirator, safety glasses, and hearing protection where required.* Must be able to safely handle gas cylinders.* Must be able to identify and take corrective steps to prevent an unsafe working environment within the laboratory.Productivity* Manage workflow through the laboratory.* Must communicate well with colleagues to plan for best workflow and ensure that time commitments are met.* Ensure equipment is kept in good order to minimize down-time.Quality* Must keep accurate documentation in accordance with internal procedures.* Must conduct spray tests in accordance with internal specifications* Must be able to follow written and verbal instructionsYour Profile:* High school diploma or equivalent required.* Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) or Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in related discipline preferred.* Knowledge of thermal spray process is a preferred.* Prior laboratory experience is preferred.* Experience in a manufacturing, welding, machining, or related environment preferred.* Capable of using machine shop equipment and hand tools.* Must be able to follow a variety of work instructions* Must be very detail-oriented and have good observational and problem-solving skills* Must have good organizational skills* Must have good communication skills.* Understanding of standard laboratory safety procedures in the handling of dangerous chemicals and materials.* Working proficiency with Microsoft Office computer software (Excel, Word, Outlook).* Familiarity with SAP systems preferred* ABB and / or Fanuc Robotics experience preferredWhy Oerlikon:Every one of us has the chance to be more curious; to bring a new innovations and ideas in our work and to our customers in the automotive, aerospace, energy, tooling, polymer processing and additive manufacturing sectors, and in doing this, we can reaffirm our customers' and strategic partners' trust.#joinoerlikonus #joinourteamAre you curious?
