In addition to a 401k retirement plan to which the company makes matching contributions, ARG offers participation in an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) to qualified employees, through which they share in the profits of the company.Scope & Responsibilities of Quality Chemist I: (Not limited to)This position focuses on maintaining the Qualification Card training system, managing the QCLab email, performing troubleshooting instruments, verification, and calibration, learning administrative duties, integrating instrumentation, LIMS system as well as preparing standards, and initiating and supporting Continuous Improvement projects.
- Maintains records for equipment calibration &/or verification in the LIMS database
- Gather and evaluate certificates for transfer of custody equipment.
- Evaluate instrument & equipment calibration data and prepare impact statements.
- Document Quality Deviation reports.
- Interacts with vendors to purchase, set up and maintain instrumentation in the laboratory.
- Works to integrate lab equipment for data transfer via Integration Manager with LIMS.
- Troubleshoots, calibrates and verify laboratory instrumentation.
- Purchases parts, standards and supplies for instrumentation.
- Provides cross-functional support and training to colleagues and other departments.
- Extracts data and prepares reports from LIMS as needed or requested.
- Improves laboratory processes for accuracy and efficiency.
- Maintains and utilizes the qualification card system to train employees

Education & Experience for Quality Chemist I:
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, physical sciences, or related field from an accredited university.
- Specialized education and exposure to chemical concepts, safe laboratory methods, practices and instrumentation are required.
- Comprehensive knowledge of statistical techniques &/or understanding of advanced software is essential.
- Knowledge of petroleum chemistry, refinery operations or petrochemical products is a plus.
Other Qualifications of Quality Chemist I:
- Proficient in the use of computers and Windows based programs including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook as well as other applicable software.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate on cross-functional teams.
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills and effectively interact with internal and external customers.
- Multi-tasking ability to effectively prioritize and handle several different tasks simultaneously.
- Must be adaptable to the challenges that arise in a Quality Laboratory environment.
- Desire to function in and support a culture of servant leadership.
- Successful completion of all company mandated &/or job-related training programs deemed appropriate.
