The Quality & Compliance Manager - will be responsible for leading and managing the AS9100 certification project for our aerospace manufacturing facility. This role requires a deep understanding of AS9100 standards, quality management systems (QMS), and project management. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with AS9100 requirements, develop and implement processes, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to maintain the highest standards of quality. Quality & Compliance Manager to join them. You will report to the
Site Lead and will have an
onsite work structure in our Centroid location in
Plainview, NY.To be considered for the Quality & Compliance opening, here's what you'll need to bring with you: - Bachelor's degree in engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
- 8 years of Quality experience in a manufacturing Aerospace Quality environment, with a minimum of 2 years in leadership roles.
- Full knowledge of the regulatory environment Ontic operates in i.e., CFR 145, AS9100/AS9110, FAR & DFARS, as well as customer and other government requirements.
- Proficient in quality management systems and tools such as FMEA, Root Cause Analysis, and corrective/preventive actions.
As a Quality & Compliance Manager you will: Project Management:
- Lead the AS9100 certification project from initiation through to successful completion, including planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Develop a comprehensive project plan with clear milestones, deliverables, and timelines.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external auditors to ensure the timely execution of the project.
Quality Management System (QMS) Development:
- Develop, document, and implement the QMS in alignment with AS9100 standards.
- Identify gaps in current processes and recommend improvements to meet AS9100 requirements.
- Ensure that all QMS documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
Training & Development:
- Provide training and support to employees on AS9100 requirements and the importance of quality standards.
- Foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement across the organization.
Compliance & Auditing:
- Lead internal audits to assess compliance with AS9100 standards.
- Prepare for and manage external audits conducted by certification bodies.
- Address non-conformities and implement corrective actions to ensure compliance.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in processes and systems to enhance quality and efficiency.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to implement best practices and drive quality improvements.
Reporting & Communication:
- Provide regular updates to senior management on the status of the AS9100 certification project.
- Prepare and present reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to quality and certification progress.
- Communicate with customers and government quality representatives (FAA & DCMA) on quality issues. Form positive/productive customer/FAA/DCMA relationships based on data and continual improvement.
