Position Overview
The Quality Control Auditor performs inspection and testing activities to ensure quality of materials and products used or produced by Quaker Windows and Doors. At the direction of the Quality Assurance Supervisor, the position will communicate and coordinate quality control objectives with production operations to maximize product reliability and minimize costs. The Quality Control Auditor examines completed and in-process products for quality and conformance to established specifications and standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Perform quality review on products in process of being made
* Perform quality control audits on finished products
* Confer with manufacturing departments personnel to coordinate quality activities
* Document audit activities in an electronic quality reporting system
* Support production leaders and operators for interpretation and methods following set standards
* Interpret and support quality policies to ensure compliance with quality standards and documents
* Analyze and resolve build problems or assist workers in solving build problems
* Assist in the development of inspection and audit reports to document audit performance and improvement opportunities
* Asist the Quality Control Supervisor or Manager in developing and initiating procedures, standards and other quality documentation
* Assist in developing new methods to resolve problems occurring during quality assurance activities
* Fill in at different workstations as auditing needs require
* Prompt and regular attendance at an assigned work location.
* Interact and communicate with employees in an appropriate manner.
* Availability on site to confer with staff members with whom the employee must interact on a regular basis.
* Review and analyze priority lists of audits that need performed.
* Plan, prioritize and monitor build activities.
* Complete assigned tasks/projects in a timely manner.
Supervisory Responsibility
No direct management or supervisory responsibilities.
Safety
Observe safety and security policies and procedures, including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment including but not limited to eye and toe protection. Steal or composite toed footwear required. Employees must report potentially unsafe conditions and use equipment and materials properly. Employees must follow department-specific safety requirements such as Safe Lift and Safe Product Handling Guidelines.
Travel
Minimal travel is required across the Quaker campuses to backup other positions.
Qualifications
An individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office software: Excel, Word, Outlook
* Proficient mechanical comprehension of windows and doors
* Proficient knowledge of Quaker Window and Door products and materials, including correct dies, parts, profiles and extrusions preferred
* Proficient usage of power tools such as saw, etc.
* Exceptional skills in the technical build
* Proficient in fraction and decimal units of measurement
Preferred Education and Experience
The expectation is that the individual has achieved a minimum level of education and/or related expertise to qualify for this position.
* High School Diploma or a Passed General Education Development Test Preferred
* Minimum 4 Years Experience in Manufacturing

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday during normal business hours. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

This is a manufacturing job. The employee must be able to:
* regularly lift and/or carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds through team lift;
* work shifts of at least 8-10 hours, and occasionally longer, for 5-6 days each week;
* stand for prolonged periods; and
* occasionally push, pull, stoop, bend, climb or balance; and kneel, crouch or crawl as necessary.
Vision abilities required by this job may include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
If an assisted lift is available, the position must use the assisted lift or use team lift any time objects exceeding 75 pounds need lifting or carrying.
It is an essential job function and safety rule, applicable to every employee working in a safety sensitive classified position, to be able to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to climactic variations, fumes or airborne particles, various levels of vibration, and moving mechanical parts. Various different types of Personal Protective Equipment might be required based on the employee's work location. The noise level in the work environment may require hearing protection.
