Position Summary:

As a Quality Control Engineer, you will have the responsibility of managing and performing root cause analyses and investigational studies for out-of-specification (OOS) and out-of-trend (OOT) results. This will involve collaborating with various teams to address problematic bulks and finished goods, ensuring that our products consistently meet the highest quality standards.

Additionally, you will have the exciting opportunity to serve as the QC representative for material review board (MRB) meetings. During these meetings, you will discuss non-conformance reports (NCRs) related to QC OOS investigations and ensure the prompt and effective execution of follow-up actions.

In addition to these critical responsibilities, you will oversee ISO 17025 compliance, record and evaluate data, prioritize your workload, and manage multiple projects in our state-of-the-art laboratory. Furthermore, you will have the chance to train and mentor other analysts, troubleshoot instruments, and actively contribute to the continuous improvement of our laboratory systems.

Key Responsibiltities:

  • Manages and performs root cause analyses and investigational studies for out-of-specification (OOS) and out-of-trend (OOT) results, including partnering with QC Analysts, Analytical Services, R&D, CTAG, Quality, and/or Operations to address problematic bulks and finished goods.
  • QC representative for material review board (MRB) meetings. Discuss non-conformance reports (NCRs) related to QC OOS investigations and responsible for executing any follow up actions required by QC.
  • Runs reports in various platforms to measure and monitor department metrics and KPI's. Shares results and trends with QC management team.
  • Oversees ISO 17025 compliance and expansion for Analytical Lab.
  • Records data, performs calculations, evaluates and reports results. Performs peer review of data and provides critical
  • analysis of laboratory systems. Keeps management apprised of progress.
  • Prioritizes workload and meets scheduled timelines, including managing multiple priorities.
  • Follows and complies with all testing procedures, operating procedures, GMPs, and safety and health requirements, as applicable.
  • Demonstrates good housekeeping practices to minimize analytical mix ups, potential laboratory contamination and safety hazards.
  • At the discretion of QC Management, will be responsible for handling hazardous waste management. Understanding and handling of hazardous materials and waste using proper and safe techniques.
  • Trains and directs other analysts on laboratory practices, standard operating procedures, quality procedures, specific methods, and instrumentation.
  • Assists QC analysts with troubleshooting analytical instruments. Coordinates outside technical support as needed.
  • Coordinates and manages laboratory projects under Management guidance.
  • Reviews and approves product evaluation form (PEF) revisions.
  • Periodically performs duties of a higher position for the purpose of training and development.
  • Other responsibilities may be assigned as required based on business need or management decisions.

Experience and Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, or a closely related natural science discipline is preferred. Significant analytical laboratory experience in lie of degree
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in an analytical laboratory is strongly preferred
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical or nutraceutical industry strongly preferred
  • Expertise in at least one specific instrument or analyte group and possess the proficiency and skill set to operate various analytical instrumentation types, including HPLC, UPLC, UPLC-MS, GC, GC-MS, ICP-OES, or ICP-MS.
  • Familiarity with Empower software is preferred.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within teams, and maintain effectiveness during major changes in work tasks or the work environment.
  • Adherence to cGLP for all laboratory functions, including sample and standard preparation, analytical testing, analysis of results, investigation of Out of Specification (OOS) results, and reporting of test results is essential.
  • Advanced knowledge of analytical testing equipment, cGMP documentation, lab safety practices, and analytical techniques is expected, along with the ability to teach and train proper laboratory techniques to less experienced Chemists.
  • Continuouslyseeking ways to improve efficiency and quality while maintaining high standards.
  • Creativity and intellectual curiosity are valued, as the candidate should be willing to explore different and innovative approaches to overcome obstacles.

Theapproximate payrange for this position is $75,000.00to $90,000.00.Please note that thepay rangeprovided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
