About the job: Embark on a new career journey to shape the future as an Espey Quality Control Engineer, where you will be part of a team crafting transformers & power supplies destined for military and industrial products. The Quality Control Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our products through the development, implementation, and maintenance of robust quality control processes and systems. Leveraging your technical expertise and analytical skills, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify quality requirements, establish inspection criteria, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and customer satisfaction. Your meticulous attention to detail, adherence to quality standards, and cross-functional collaboration capabilities will contribute to the overall success of our manufacturing process and customer satisfaction. Quality Control Engineer Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

* Develop and implement methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material and devise methods to assess cost and responsibility.

* Develop and analyze statistical data and specifications to indicate present product standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product.

* Develop and implement quality control plans, procedures, and inspection protocols to ensure compliance with product specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

* Conduct root cause analysis and investigation of quality issues, non-conformities, and customer complaints to identify underlying causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.

* Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to define quality requirements, establish critical-to-quality (CTQ) characteristics, and validate product designs and processes.

* Design and execute statistical process control (SPC) studies, capability analyses, and process audits to monitor and improve process stability, capability, and performance.

* Lead and support failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), risk assessments, and design of experiments (DOE) to identify potential failure modes, assess risks, and optimize product designs and processes.

* Develop and maintain inspection procedures, work instructions, and quality documentation in compliance with quality management system (QMS) requirements (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).

* Utilize quality tools and methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean manufacturing) to analyze data, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and enhance productivity.

* Provide training and guidance to production teams and quality teammates on quality control methods, techniques, and best practices.

* Participate in supplier quality management activities, including supplier audits, supplier corrective actions, and supplier development initiatives to ensure the quality of incoming materials and components.

* Support customer audits, inspections, and inquiries related to quality control processes, product quality, and regulatory compliance

* Promote a culture of continuous improvement and quality excellence throughout the organization by actively participating in quality improvement initiatives and projects.

Required Qualifications:

* BS degree in engineering or related field or equivalent experience

* Minimum 5 years of related work experience

* Must be 18 years or older

* Must be able to work full time

* Must be US citizen with ability to secure a US Government security clearance; Applicants must meet eligibility requirements for access to export controlled data.

* Required Essential Functions include: the ability to frequently stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear, and lift up to 10 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and lift up to 50 pounds. * The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience in working in manufacturing or production environments supporting military or industrial products

* Attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.

* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.

* Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.

* Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as required by production schedules.

* Lean-6 Sigma experience
