Job SummaryThe Quality Control Expert 1 is responsible for overseeing quality control aspects of multiple upcoming business opportunities, including project management, method development, and research and development (R&D). This role will support the QC team by managing schedules, deliverables, and the success of project oversight while preparing standards, samples, and performing analytical testing on oxygen analyzers.
Key Responsibilities- Manage, coordinate, and oversee new project development and method development for quality control.
- Collaborate with current QC lab staff while maintaining primary ownership of project schedules, plans, and deliverables.
- Prepare standards and samples for testing, perform testing, analyze data, and make usage decisions for R&D and finished goods.
- Adhere to testing schedules and lab workload as defined by the QC Senior Scientist.
- Observe and assist with maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, and preventive maintenance of instrument oxygen analyzers.
- Follow quality system guidelines, including SOPs, change controls, deviation reporting, and good documentation practices.
- Complete and remain current with all required training.
- Perform additional QC duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or another physical science.
- Basic understanding of analytical chemistry.
- 1+ years of analytical laboratory experience.
Preferred Qualifications- Project management experience.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with all levels of staff.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
- Experience in the chemical manufacturing industry.
Physical Requirements- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted.
- Ability to sit, stand, hear, and use hands to operate equipment for extended periods.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
