Job Description:

Swoon works directly with a world leading manufacturer of advanced technology and optical connectivity solutions, and we're excited to add a Quality Control Inspector II to our expanding team. Location: Akron, Pennsylvania

Compensation: $19-23/hr.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, audit, and report on materials, processes, and products to ensure compliance with organizational quality standards and customer expectations.
  • Use ERP systems to access part drawings, routings, and instructions.
  • Understand and utilize work order packets, including BOMs, routings, and drawings.
  • Interpret internal and customer requirements from documentation.
  • Perform inspections at required levels on raw materials, in-process, or finished assemblies using equipment like microscopes, micrometers, and height gauges.
  • Generate reports for non-conforming materials (NCMRs) and collaborate with production to address issues.
  • Write Quality Inspection Plans (QIP) and Initial Incoming Inspection Reports (IIIR).
  • Conduct incoming inspections and assist with in-house calibration activities.
  • Update procedures, create visual aids, and ensure effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities and support department goals.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent with 2–4 years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and methodical work practices.
  • Proficiency in measurement units (millimeters and inches), blueprint reading, and using measuring devices such as gauges and calipers.
  • Basic computer and math skills, with knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with quality standards such as ISO 9001, AS9100, and military standards; willingness to learn IPC 620 standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, teamwork, and documentation skills.
  • Experience with quality forms and records maintenance.
