At IAP LLC, the Quality Control Inspector will inspect vehicles upon arrival, during processing and upon allocation as necessary to ensure the quality of work is completed and to document damage and deficiencies. Essential Duties:
- On all arriving vehicles, thoroughly and accurately survey vehicles, according to customer standards, for damage or shortage.
- Properly document and sticker damages, as well as complete manufacturer's survey form if necessary.
- Reconcile the survey with the survey results of independent survey companies, if necessary.
- Document warehouse and warranty damages occurring in their assigned area. Also note any quality deficiencies as they occur.
- Complete audits of handling vehicles, installations or other operations as requested.
- In accordance with the manufacturer's specifications, inspect the proper installation of all accessories completed by the Production Shop; and inspect body and paint work completed by the Body Shop.
- Report to the QC Manager and Shop Manager recurrent or serious deficiencies as they occur.
- Provide timely and accurate information as necessary to other departments or Port Representatives regarding damages, defects, or shortages.
- Ensure a spotter is present when backing up vehicles.
- Maintain a safe working environment and follow all policies and procedures regarding safety.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid US Driver's License
- Obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC Badge) issued by the Department of Homeland Security
- Drive both automatic and straight shift vehicles.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using/operating a two-way radio and a Freon detector.
- Must have demonstrated commitment to safety.
- Ability to effectively communicate, understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Must possess problem-solving abilities and be detail oriented.
Physical Working Attributes:
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stoop throughout shift.
- Work at heights of approximately 15 feet
- Exposed to all outdoor elements including heat, cold, rain, insects and other conditions which may exist from time to time.
