Job Description:

Reporting to the Warehouse Operations Manager, the Quality Control Inspector is responsible for ensuring that products and shipments meet specific quality standards prior to being released for shipment from finished goods warehouse.

Responsibilities

  • The Quality Control Inspector is the primary Quality Assurance floor contact for the finished goods warehouse for their respective shift.
  • Ensure quality and operational procedures are being followed and quality standards meets customer expectations
  • Examine shipments of inventory and report issues as necessary
  • Train team members on quality control measures to improve processes and ensure quality standards
  • Compile necessary reports for the immediate supervisor and other personnel
  • Maintain all necessary records in the working documentation/enter data in relevant systems in accordance with the Companys internal procedures
  • Propose improvements to processes and monitor the use of warehouse equipment to ensure it is safe and meets requirements
  • Ensure that finished goods warehouse personnel adhere to standards and procedures
  • Work with Quality, R&D, Production and other departments on any containment actions impacting finished goods.
  • All other duties as required

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Associates degree from an accredited community, technical or vocational college preferred
  • 2+ years direct experience in a manufacturing/warehouse environment preferred
  • Lean / process improvement tools experience and/or interest in advancing knowledge in this area

Physical Demands/Work Environment

  • Operates in both an office environment and manufacturing/warehouse environment including indoor environmental conditions and noise.
  • Must be able to work standing and/or walking continuously throughout a 8-hour shift
  • Frequent reaching, grasping, bending, and stooping
  • Must be able to tolerate odor from raw materials, freshly cured tires and hot materials
  • Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 75 lbs independently, and occasionally lift and/or move above shoulder height.
  • Must be able to frequently engage in repetitive motions requiring substantial movement of the wrist, hands and/or fingers
  • Adequate vision to read work instructions, job aids and guides, and detect imperfections in raw materials, tooling and finished product
  • Ability to work in environment with limited climate control and varied temperature levels that can exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit
