DescriptionLinx ManufacturingLocated in Thomasville, GAQuality Control InspectorDescription: The Quality Inspector will be part of the Internal Quality team responsible for driving continuous improvement in the quality of our product while executing our current Quality Management System. The Quality Inspector will focus on the biggest opportunities and is expected to have a significant impact on the quality of our product while also streamlining activities to improve throughout. This position ensures Work Instructions are being followed and defects are contained and resolved in the location they are created, not allowing them to progress down the production line. This position will report to the Plant Manager. This position will interact, train, coach, and mentor the line workers to ensure their continued development. Job Duties:
  • Execute a quality program that drives continuous improvement and prevents defects from progressing to internal and external customers
  • Keep management informed of progress of quality resolutions performed primarily by department Team Members. Assist when necessary
  • Establish checks at each department and execute checks and track results
  • Prioritize results to address top issues
  • Track OKR's such as defects per trailer and rework man hours
  • With your supervisor, develop SMART goals for each of the activities identified
  • Execute a training program to ensure team members are trained on Quality
  • Work with engineering to ensure that work instructions are accurate and up to date
  • Ensure that each team member understands each task and can perform the task at a high-quality level. Sign off and track training.
  • Maintain a training signoff matrix providing a quick visual for who is signed off.
  • Execute an audit system that randomly audits team members to see if they are following the work instructions provided.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve work instructions - Engineering approval is required for any changes.
  • Perform repairs that require a high level of detail
  • Perform repairs with line personnel if line is backing up due to quality issues
  • Perform final checks and ensure all documentation is with the trailer before leaving the facility
  • Other duties as may be assigned
Job Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience required
  • 1 year of trailer manufacturing or manufacturing experience preferred
  • Ability to use various computer programs specific to the position
  • Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly
  • Team player with a positive proactive attitude
  • An eye for detail with the customer in mind
  • Ability to stand by a decision and deescalate confrontational scenarios if needed
  • Open mind and willing to collaborate on what is best for the company
  • Ability to track, organize, and prioritize data to drive continuous improvement
  • Be able to coach, train, and mentor team members and accept or provide constructive criticism
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills and the ability to write work instructions
  • Adheres to proper safety protocols as required
  • Be flexible and willing to adapt - we are a fast-growing company and priorities can shift on short notice
  • Forklift experience preferred
