Job Description:

Overview ... This position will perform inspection of incoming parts, subassemblies, and assemblies to detailed supplied drawings; support the production area with 1st part inspection and final inspection; provide detailed inspection reports to the Q/A Supervisor, Process Engineering and other departments upon request; interface with process engineering on quality related issues to resolve defects; and interface with other departments as required i.e. purchasing/planning and engineering. The Opportunity ... Support and feedback is provided to production on the quality status of parts and assemblies. Effective and timely support is provided to insure first piece, in-process & final inspection is conducted as required to ensure deviations are identified before manufactured parts get to stock. Follow up on quality/production problems when identified and action is taken with process and design engineering, as required, to prevent them from re-occurring. Quality procedures are complied with as required. Input is done for part deviations requiring action; rework or scrap into Quality system for resolution according to the procedures in place and follow-up is completed. Support & interface is provided between shop & engineering on quality questions or issues as they arise and feedback is provided in a timely manner. Records and drawing files are kept up to date to support Q/A activities and reports. Inspection area kept neat and orderly, all inspection equipment is identified and calibrated prior to use. Education Requirements: Mandatory: High School Diploma or GED Preferred: A.S.Q.C. certification Experience Requirements: Mandatory: Three years' experience in the use of inspection equipment such as calipers, indicators, micrometers, CMM, hardness testers, and general inspection equipment. Minimum three years' experience in machine shop and fabrication shop. Proficient in blueprint reading. Preferred: Five years machine and fabrication shop experience to include welding, sheet metal and assembly.
