Requirements of the Quality Inspector (Metrology):
- 3-5 years of experience in quality inspection with a focus on metrology, preferably in the aerospace industry.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, or a related field is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of metrology processes, measurement techniques, and the use of Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), particularly Zeiss Contura.
- Proficiency with measuring arms (e.g., FARO ARM) and other precision measurement tools.
- Familiarity with aerospace quality standards, including AS9100 and ISO 9001.
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) tools.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
Responsibilities of the Quality Inspector (Metrology):
- Conduct detailed inspections of metal components and assemblies to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
- Utilize Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and other metrology equipment to perform precision measurements and ensure parts meet required tolerances.
- Review and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine inspection requirements.
- Document inspection findings and collaborate with engineering and production teams to address any quality issues.
- Ensure that all inspected materials meet the rigorous standards required for both civil and defense aviation applications.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and results, ensuring compliance with aerospace quality standards.
- Provide recommendations for improving processes and product quality based on inspection findings.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying and eliminating waste in the inspection process.
