- Perform mechanical, welding, finish, and final inspections of parts at various production stages based on AQL.
- Perform 1st piece inspection of parts and components before mechanics continue with the production run of parts.
- Inspect parts returning from vendors to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications. Review supplier certification records to ensure compliance with the contract requirements.
- Open and manage nonconformance reports and corrective actions on internal and supplier components to completion.
- Coordinate with purchasing, management, and quality staff to compile and issue material and process certifications.
- Oversee and manage the special process, inspections, and testing for chem film, passivation, spot welding, welding, and painting to maintain compliance with the QMS, customer, and NADCAP requirements.
- Participate in registrar, internal, and customer audits and quality control meetings.
Must be knowledgeable in inspecting fabricated or machined parts with use of vernier calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, countersink gauges, protractors and other measuring tools.
Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Experience with AS9100, ISO 9001, NADCAP quality management systems is a plus. VT and PT welding inspection experience is a plus.
