Job Type Full-timeDescriptionInspects and monitors work performed in the metal fabrication department for products used for ruggedized computers. Must be experienced with sheet metal and machined part fabrication, flat pattern inspection, forming/bending, deburr, vertical 4th and 5th axis and horizontal milling fabrication practices for government and commercial work items. Performs assigned work using independently used predetermined methods, operations, setups, and prescribed specifications to perform in-process and completed inspections of products such as machine parts, mechanical assemblies, purchased standard hardware, and the inspections of applied protective coatings such as plating, powder coating and liquid paint applications.Duties & Responsibilities
- Receiving, first-piece, in-process and final inspection activities (ensure that everything from raw materials to finished products meet quality and safety standards in the purchasing documentation, engineering and design standards (AMS-STD, MIL-DTL, ASTM)
- Read drawings, interpret dimensions and tolerances
- Record inspection or test data, and quantities inspected
- Reject products and materials not meeting specifications
- Analyze drawings, data, manuals, and other materials to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures, and measuring instruments required
- Mark items with details of acceptance/rejection status
- Measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as calipers, height gauges, micrometers, depth gauges, pin gauges, radius gauges, CMM, etc.
- Comply with all Best Flow Line quality and HSE policies and procedures
- Dimensional inspection of sheet metal, machined, welded, injection molded & cast parts
- Make necessary inspection reports and approve work order
- In process inspection to determine whether work is being done correctly
- Stopping operations on parts produced that are not within tolerances or quality standards
- Inspect and report all defects with incoming materials, tools, dies, castings, etc.
- Build as needed inspection setups with gauges and fixtures
- Directs and monitors inspection duties of at least one inspector of a lower rating.
- Guide and coach new inspectors or assigned personnel to support CFM activities and measurement instrument usage
- Follow all company guidelines and company policies
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- The candidate must be able to demonstrate functional experience in sheet metal and machining inspection processes.
- High School diploma, Associate degree preferred.
- 3 - 5 years of directly related experience.
- Measurement Equipment to ensure compliance government regulations, industry regulations, and the quality standard
- Experience in Microsoft Office suite.
- Experience with different measurement instruments.
- Working level in computer skills and basic knowledge of GageTrak calibration software.
- Demonstrated ability in report making and documentation.

The range for this position is an estimate. Actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors that are unique to each candidate including, but not limited to: skill set, depth of experience, education and certifications.
