Summary: Responsible for planning, coordinating and performing quality control functions in order to ensure the products are consistent with established standards by performing the following duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Performs and directs the company's receiving inspection process. Performs activities related to Non-Conforming Materials. Interacts with external auditors and inspectors, including ISO, ASME, ABS, UL and customers. Performs final inspection of finished product. Ensures all specified in-process inspection requirements are performed. Performs and directs the control of materials through the company's material traceability procedures. Member of the company facility safety and inspection team. Assists in the developing and compiling of statistical data to determine effectiveness of present standards and propose improvements to quality and reliability of finished product. Assists in investigating production issues and developing solutions to improve the efficiency, quality and safety of company operations and products. Performs other duties as required. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, technical documents, common scientific journals, operating and maintenance manuals and procedure manuals. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings including tolerance specifications. Ability to write detailed reports and correspondence and analyze data using word processing, spreadsheet and database software. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, vendors or employees of organization. Computer Skills: Competent with computer software including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access and Outlook) Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to use common measuring instruments and electrical test equipment. Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Measuring Skills: Ability to use basic forms of measuring and test equipment (i.e. caliper, micrometer, height gauge, plug gauges, etc.) Physical Requirements General office / warehouse environment.
