Job Description:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Quality Control Inspector is responsible to the Manager of Inspection. Duties shall include, but are not limited to the following:

* Represent the company in a professional manner and maintain the awareness of the interests of the company.

* Inspect all shop areas as directed.

* Coordinate with Manager of Inspection as to periodic check inspection progress and advising him of inspection status.

* Perform inspection tasks assigned by the Manager of Inspection, Director of Quality Control, or the Director of Maintenance.

* Inspect incoming components or materials when necessary, or in the absence of a qualified receiving inspector.

* Document major repairs and major alterations of company aircraft, powerplants, components and appliances on FAA Form 337 as required.

* Complete Service Difficulty Reports required by 14 CFR 121.703 and forward to Manager of Reliability.

* Document all level 2 and level 3 corrosion per GMM requirements and forward the reports to the Manager of Reliability.

* Complete MM-025 or MM-088 checklist at the completion of any vendor A or C check.

* Provide oversight of Outsourced Maintenance Providers by performing random checks of the quality of work and inspection tasks on OAI aircraft and components during drop-in maintenance, A-check, C-check, essential maintenance or component maintenance events, as required by GMM chapter 14.

* Attend all OAI training classes as assigned by the Manager of Inspection.

* Separate CPCP, SSI, and SID routine and non-routine information from major check packages and individually forecasted cards and distribute as applicable (to QC, Inspection, Maintenance, etc.).

* Initiate, execute and sign forms, tags and other paperwork in accordance with OAI maintenance manuals; review all paperwork for completeness and signatures; release aircraft for service by signing airworthiness release in accordance with OAI General Maintenance Manual.

* Perform auditor duties as trained and assigned, to include: external maintenance and or service providers, internal audits of OAI Maintenance Departments, including Line Stations and Stores, in accordance with the OAI CASS/MRP Manual.

* Perform audits of OAI paperwork (i.e. Logbooks, Cabin Logs, DMI, COI, NEF Items and Non-Routines) in accordance with the OAI CASS/MRP Manual.

* Audit completed paperwork during A and C checks.

* Supervise the aircraft weigh operations and perform aircraft weight and balance calculations as required by work packages.

* Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager of Inspection or higher management.

AUTHORITIES:

* The QC Inspector is authorized to exercise individual initiative and judgment and will make decisions where necessary with regard to airworthiness of aircraft and determine that all aircraft, maintenance work, materials and practices conform to the standards established by OAI and that any aircraft, engine or appliance released for flight or approved for return to service is airworthy.

QUALIFICATIONS

* Be thoroughly familiar with the provisions of the company General Maintenance Manual with revisions issued by Quality Control Department

* Must hold a valid A&P Certificate

* Test negative on an FAA mandated pre-employment drug test, and on subsequent tests under the Omni drug and alcohol testing policy applicable to employees occupying safety sensitive positions

* Must be able to pass a 10-year Background/Criminal check and pre-employment drug screen

* Must be willing to work a 12-hour shift schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays

* Valid state issued driver's license with clear MVR with no major moving violations within the past 3 years

* Must possess or be able to obtain a valid passport that allows unrestricted travel to all countries where OAI may fly

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

* High school diploma or GED required

* Must have mechanic certificate

* Experience working and repairing large airplanes

* Boeing 767/777 experience preferred

* Avionics experience preferred

* Turbine Engine maintenance and borescope inspection experience preferred

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

* Stand - 40%

* Walk - 30%

* Sit - 30%

* Capable of using small tools (picks, inspection mirrors, flashlights, etc.).

* Extensive travel

* Manual dexterity to operate a computer.

* Climb stairs and ladders.

* Lift - Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs.

MENTAL CAPABILITY REQUIREMENTS

* Must be naturally inquisitive, conscientious and committed to quality in all aspects of aircraft maintenance.

* Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information

* Work with limited supervision and possess an impeccable attention to detail, excellent customer service and organizational skills required

* Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, gathering and analyzing information skillfully with significant detail

* Ability to make decisions which impact the department's credibility, and services
