Job DescriptionAgilent Technologies is seeking a Quality Control Lab Column Loading Technician for its manufacturing facility in Newport, Delaware. The Newport site is part of Agilent's growing Consumables and Supplies Division (CSD), with a focus on liquid chromatography products. Agilent's product quality and technological innovation lead the market. As a market leader, we are entering new phases of product transformation with increased emphasis on process standardization, product availability and quality, and new product and process innovation.As a Quality Control Lab Column Loading Technician you will support the Silica Production department by loading finished bonded phase silica production batches into HPLC columns for the Quality Laboratory samples. Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Management and execution of the column loading and/or re-load queues for QC lab samples
  • Troubleshooting column load and test issues associated with QC lab sample loading
  • In periods of low demand for QC lab loading, work to support other functions of the Production and QC teams, based on the most urgent business needs
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and unobstructed work area, practice good safety and environmental habits, and utilize appropriate safety equipment
  • Actively participate and contribute to the continual improvement process
  • Demonstrate and promote Agilent Values
  • Provide accurate and timely results of the testing
Qualifications
  • 1+ years relevant experience in a manufacturing support environment with a QC mindset
  • Experience and high degree of proficiency in loading and testing HPLC Columns using ChemStation software
  • Experience preparing and maintaining HPLC instruments, solvents, and test samples for QC testing
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot issues related to the loading and testing of HPLC columns
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with others, including cross-functionally, in a team environment to create and accomplish a common goal
  • Ability to take direction and adjust rapidly and effectively to change while remaining open to adjustments in job assignments
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, take ownership and make timely appropriate decisions
  • Ability to read, understand and execute common laboratory processes and procedures
