**Job Title:** Quality Control Lab Technician
Location: New York
**Job Summary:**
We are looking for a meticulous and dependable Quality Control (QC) Lab Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will conduct both routine and specialized testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to ensure compliance with company and regulatory quality, safety, and performance standards. This role is essential for upholding our product quality and meeting both internal and external compliance requirements.
**Key Responsibilities:**
**Testing & Analysis:**
- Conduct chemical, physical, and microbiological tests on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods per established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Operate and maintain laboratory instruments, including pH meters, spectrophotometers, HPLC, GC, titrators, and balances.
- Record, interpret, and report test results accurately and promptly.
**Documentation & Compliance:**
- Maintain precise records of all test results, observations, and deviations from standard procedures.
- Ensure all laboratory activities comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and other regulatory standards (FDA, ISO, etc.).
- Assist in preparing reports and Certificates of Analysis (COAs) for internal and external stakeholders.
**Sample Management:**
- Collect, label, and prepare samples for testing as needed.
- Organize and store samples following laboratory standards to prevent cross-contamination and ensure traceability.
**Equipment Maintenance:**
- Calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments, ensuring they are functioning correctly.
- Perform routine cleaning and troubleshooting of equipment, reporting any malfunctions to the supervisor.
**Continuous Improvement & Safety:**
- Participate in laboratory audits, quality control reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Adhere to and enforce all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe chemical handling.
- Stay informed about industry standards and new testing methodologies.
**Qualifications:**
**Education:**
- Associate's or Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related field.
- Relevant technical certifications in quality control or laboratory technology are a plus.
**Experience:**
- 1-3 years of experience in a quality control laboratory, preferably in the pharmaceutical, chemical, food, or manufacturing industries.
- Hands-on experience with laboratory instruments and analytical techniques (e.g., pH meters, chromatography, spectrophotometry).
**Skills:**
- Strong attention to detail and ability to adhere to SOPs.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and laboratory data management software (LIMS).
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, with the capability to work independently or collaboratively.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
- Familiarity with regulatory standards such as FDA, ISO, or GMP.
- Experience in sample preparation and instrument calibration.
- Knowledge of statistical analysis and quality control methodologies.
