Job Title: Quality Control ManagerReports To: Plant ManagerFLSA Status: ExemptSummary:The Quality Control Manager is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the quality of products, processes, and systems within each of the Yates Divisions. Also responsible for directing, teaching and monitoring the QC Team at each division in accordance to Management initiatives. Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement quality control processes and procedures.
  • Collect and analyze production and quality data.
  • Identify trends and areas for improvement with overall QC program as well as be intimately involved with warranties.
  • Ensure products and process meet regulatory and company standards.
  • Investigate and resolve all quality issues in a timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with clients.
  • Interview, hire, train, reward, and discipline employees.
  • Communicate quality issues and improvements to clients in a timely manner.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiates.
  • Encourage and create a culture of quality within the organization.
  • Drive relevant projects and project status communications and monitor progress through project management reviews.
  • Execute, monitor, and control the schedule, cost deliverables, risk management and scope to meet or exceed client expectations.
  • Resolve elevated issues internally and with the client, ensuring barriers that could impede project progress are removed.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing and Purchasing Manager to assure high quality, competitively priced supplier designed components.
  • Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Oversee all warranties and RMAs for the new department.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.Math Ability:Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.Reasoning Ability:Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.Computer Skills:To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Made2Manage, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Outlook.Education/Experience:Bachelor's degree (B. A. / B. S.) from four-year college or university. Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in quality control or quality assurance. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.Specialized Training:Machine shop experience is a plus.Knowledge, Skills, and Other Abilities:
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic cylinder knowledge is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of project management tools
  • Strong leadership skills including the building of effective teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to moderate and lead projects and drive technical decisions.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to customers and leadership.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to Quality, Lean Manufacturing, and continuous improvement.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to wear safety glasses and hard sole/close toed shoes with a low heel when walking through the manufacturing shop and/or repair shop whether as part of performing their job or just passing through.
