Job Description:
Description This position reports to the General Manager and will develop, maintain, and lead all aspects of quality management/control within our facility to ensure fabricated products are compliant with certifications, customer standards, and contract requirements. RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop, review, test, teach, train, and certify staff and program requirements for WPS, PQR, and WQTR
  • Maintain welder continuity logs and ensure welding machine calibration.
  • Manage and maintain current/future certifications and audit compliance to include AISC Fabrication; AWS D1.1, D1.5; internal quality documents, and customer requirements.
  • Maintain system that identifies and tracks cost of quality non-compliance, rework, or poor quality.
  • Establish and champion the Quality Policy and Quality Steering Team, reinforcing a positive quality culture.
  • Provide timely and accurate communication regarding quality policy updates, audits and audit findings, quality plans, individual test plans, identified compliance issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Create, implement, and review quality improvement plan.
  • Educate stakeholders in quality awareness and improvement, fostering a team approach to problem solving, training, supplier qualification, and employee certification.
  • Audit vendor scoring matrix for quality compliance and supplier development.
  • Review backlog for new project quality requirements and communicate actionable items.
  • Attend various business unit meetings.
Requirements Minimum 5 years' hands on experience in a quality control/management role. Bachelor's degree in related discipline or equivalent overall experience. Required certifications: CWI Preferred certifications: CWE; ASNTC-1A Level 2 NDT with PT, UT, and RT; NACE Level 1 Ability to communicate professionally both verbally and written. Proficient with MS Office software. Familiarity with Tekla MRP. Proficient math skills in support of Quality duties. High degree of attention required to prevent injury to self and others. Agree to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by the company. Successfully pass pre-employment background check, drug screen, and physical.
