Job Description:

Weyerhaeuser Company is seeking excellent candidates for a qualified Quality Control Manager for the Dimensional Lumber Mill located in Dodson, LA. Sawmilling in Dodson has a rich history where it was home to the largest sawmill in the United States in 1900. It is located close to Ruston, LA, home of Louisiana Tech University and Grambling State University. North Central Louisiana has great communities, outdoor scenic attractions, thriving arts, recreation and shopping in the surrounding Dodson areas.

Key Functions

* Develop and implement quality programs, including statistical process control

* Serve as a liaison with other departments, units, or organizations to discuss quality standards, address concerns, and resolve issues

* Develop and train associates including coaching, mentoring, and skill development

* Role model safety standards and on-the-job behavior by living Weyerhaeuser core principles of integrity, fairness, creating a positive work environment, and ensuring open communication among associates

* Promote continuous improvement and innovation in assigned functional area

* Ensure compliance with all applicable Weyerhaeuser, federal, state, and local laws and regulations

* Maintain long-term big picture view to forecast obstacles and opportunities

* Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Wood Science Technology or related technical field OR equivalent combination of education and experience

* At least 5 years of leadership experience (or equivalent in education and work experience) in a manufacturing environment, preferably lumber manufacturing

* Knowledge of optimization and product mix, preferably in lumber manufacturing.

* Demonstrated commitment to safety initiatives

* Excellent organizational skills

* Ability to lead, direct and follow up on activities of assigned personnel

* Experience in sawmill optimization and quality

* Knowledge of lumber grading procedures

* Excellent analytical skills

* Demonstrated ability to manipulate optimization equipment and make value decisions based off real time data

* Ability to learn and understand entire manufacturing process from raw materials to sales

* Advanced computer skills to include Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

* Ability to lead and empower work teams

* Strong problem-solving skills

* Proven employee relations skills

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills

* Ability to plan, organize, and lead work assignments and analyze results

* Flexibility to support a 24/7 operation, which includes anytime response support and weekend/holiday work if necessary

* Able to fulfill the essential job functions of lifting up to 50lbs, working in and on industrial equipment (including alignments, replace scanners, etc.), travel up and down catwalks, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience with and knowledge of quality control techniques and wood technology measures

What We Offer

Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $79,330 - $118,995 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 7% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

Retirement: Employees are able to enroll in our company's 401k plan, which includes a paid company match in addition to our annual contribution equal to 5% of your base salary.

Paid Time Off or Vacation: We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with 3-weeks of paid vacation to use during your first year of employment. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours
