Great Southern Wood Preserving, Inc. producer of Yellawood brand Pressure-Treated Pine is seeking a Quality Control Specialist. This is a full-time position offering competitive pay and full benefit package.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Including but not limited to the following:
- Develop and maintain databases. Analyze production data and recognize trends. Suggest changes that positively impact conformance, efficiency and throughput.
- Provide training and consultation. Assist with onboarding new team members. Identify strengths and weaknesses of individuals. Encourage utilization of strengths and train to address deficiencies.
- Troubleshoot, recognize production issues including cycles, inputs (lumber, chemical), mechanical, controls, laboratory equipment, human error, and oversight. Troubleshoot issues and see through resolution.
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures to address recognized opportunities for improvement.
- Communicate with partners (other departments, equipment manufacturers, chemical suppliers and third-party oversight) to secure positive outcomes.
- Bolster Treating Operations Support Team projects. Assist on repairs, upgrades, and installations. Follow-up with training to ensure a smooth transition to new equipment, chemistries, and/or technologies.
