Quality Control Supervisor We are looking for a Quality Control Supervisor to join our Target Rock team!As
our Quality Control Supervisor you will provide supervision and direction on manufacturing inspection and test functions. You will coordinate multiple test functions within the Inspection Department (ex. hardness testing, alloy verification, NDE and other material processing. Additionally, you will interact directly with Production Control, Assembly and Test, Purchasing, Quality Engineering and Engineering departments in the support of scheduling, projects, improvement objectives and product quality reviews.
Location: East Farmingdale, NYSalary/hourly rate: $91,000 to $131,000Please note that the salary range information provided is a general guideline only, reflecting a position based in New York. Your Challenge- Monitors the inspections in progress, verifies correct inspection methods are being applied to obtain accurate results.
- Assigns work to inspectors to who have the proper level of training and job knowledge to comply with inspection procedures and specifications and to complete the inspection function to the satisfaction of all requirements.
- Initiates cross training and initial training programs that encompass all aspects of manufacturing inspection.
- Reviews daily time charges, attendance, and schedules overtime.
- Develops a work schedule that responds to priorities to each inspection location and discipline. Reviews shop loading report and address obstacles, hold points or conflicts
- Resolves procedure conflicts, employee conflicts, inspection method conflicts.
- Develops inspection methods, including designing tools, purchasing equipment, prepares Appropriation Request (AR).
- Maintains continuous process improvement program including weekly training sessions with inspectors. Reviews procedure process, equipment and conditions with inspectors as required. Establishes effective lines of communication and feedback with inspectors, manufacturing personnel, engineers, supervision, and management.
- Develops and maintains employee development and participation programs that achieve the individual's potential and added value to the organization.
- Ensures prompt resolution to conditions that adversely affect quality.
- Periodically reviews documentation.
- Makes recommendations to manager on improvements, equipment, and manpower requirements.
- Maintains calibration activity. Ensures the correct procedures are being used and the correct results obtained. Periodically reviews calibration frequency and closely monitors gauging needs and usage. Ensures compliance to procedures.
- Monitors NDE work loading, provide scheduling and workload priorities. Performs periodic reviews on performance and procedure adherence.
- Monitors /supervises final inspection department review schedules and priorities with the inspector. Interacts with customers and contract administrators. Monitors performance and work activity for support and adherence to procedure and job requirements.
- Evaluates inspection results.
- Analyzes root cause of product and process deficiencies.
- Maintains work schedules, vacation time, back shift coverage.
- Provides training on inspection applications, verifications of geometric tolerances.
- Provides quotations on inspection hours on new jobs.
- Provides responses to customers concerns and findings.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor.
What You Bring- Ten (10) years' experience in Manufacturing Quality Control.
- Associates Degree or High School diploma with ten (10) years inspection supervisory experience
- Must be a U.S Citizen.
