Job Title: Quality Supervisor

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Employment Type: Full-Time

Reports to: Plant Manager

Job Overview:

Responsible for supervising maintenance and improvement of the plant-wide quality system that focuses on customer satisfaction, defect prevention, improved defect detection, and continuous improvement utilizing Six Sigma techniques.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Is responsible to ensure employees meet quality standards; that product that is produced within the shift following the company's quality systems, processes, and procedures.
  • Administers quality assurance systems to achieve zero defects through hands-on training, strong work ethic, and leadership by example.
  • Participates in maintaining and enhancing plant level quality performance metrics.
  • Supervise, develop and motivate direct reporting staff.
  • Conducts internal audits
  • Maintain and oversee scheduling
  • Conduct internal corrective and preventive action
  • Maintain the Plant KPI's
  • Ensure clear communication is given either verbally or written to all members of staff.
  • Ensure that Health and Safety rules and regulations are adhered to during the shift and all relating matters are managed while using the company resources in line with the Health and Safety policies.
  • Identify root causes and take a fast-effective action to resolve any opportunity that arises by using problem solving skills.
  • Maintain an active role in the company's continuous improvement plan to achieve plans for future growth within the company.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards to ensure a clean and safe workplace.
  • Make appropriate decisions while following the company's organizational structure.
  • Ensure that the training skills are met for current and future demands of the shift.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience supervising a QC/QA Department preferred. Must also be able to deal effectively and professionally with team members
  • Experience with team-based troubleshooting of injection molds and injection molding processes
  • Strong statistical background (including the use of Excel, Minitab, etc.), SPC/SQC and various quality based statistical tools
  • Able to effectively lead a cross-function/departmental internal team
  • Ability to train and coach others in quality systems
  • Excellent external/internal customer and presentation skills to all levels of customer's organizations
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment characterized by high growth.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Associate's Degree (preferably in a technical discipline) or equivalent related work experience required
  • Plastic injection molding experience desirable, preferably in a multi-plant environment
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong customer relationship building skills
  • Strong “hands-on” analytical problem solving abilities
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
