Job Title: Quality Control Technician ALocation: Pascagoula, MS, USJob Type: Full TimeGENERAL FUNCTION: Performs in-process and final inspections to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and all other applicable requirements. Works under the general supervision of a quality control manager, supervisor, or other manager.TYPICAL DUTIES: The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed and are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities:
  • Inspect and/or test parts or products being fabricated, assembled, welded, or otherwise manufactured to assure compliance with quality standards.
  • Document inspections and tests.
  • Accept or reject material or assemblies not conforming to design specifications or approved deviations.
  • Inspect purchased parts and specialty items from suppliers and set up disposition procedures for unacceptable material.
  • Consult with engineering for alternate methods and/or bring to the attention of production supervision in cases of product problem areas or faulty workmanship.
  • Maintain records and files about quality control/inspection of products.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Good knowledge of detail and assembly drawings used in manufacturing processes.
  • Good knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations applicable to the focus of the manufacturing area assigned.
  • Ability to use tools, gauges, measuring devices, and test equipment necessary for the inspection process.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to interface well with plant supervisors, managers, and customer quality assurance personnel.
EXPERIENCE & TRAINING:
  • Completion of a standard high school education supplemented or including coursework in drafting, applied mathematics, or industrial technology and considerable to extensive experience in manufacturing processes; or any equivalent combination of education and training that results in the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
