Job Description:
Perform laboratory tests to determine chemical and physical characteristics or composition of in-process batches, raw materials, and finished products for such purposes as quality control, process control, or product development. Checks quality of batches, raw materials and finished products for such things as color, viscosity, gloss, and pH. Assists and supports others in the achievement of company and departmental goals. You will report to the Quality Manager.Responsibilities
  • Verify formula and component specifications on batch tickets.
  • Set up, adjusts, calibrates, and operates laboratory equipment and instruments such paint guns, mixers, viscometers, chemical balances, pH meters, gloss meters, solids analyzer, spectrophotometer, and other equipment.
  • Test samples of manufactured products to verify conformity to specifications.
  • Record test results on batch tickets and in our computer operating system.
  • Manage quality records and retains of production batches.
  • Evaluate retains of production batches in response to quality complaints.
  • Conduct in-coming raw materials testing, ensuring conformance to required specifications.
  • Perform routine production quality checks to ensure finished products are filled and packaged according to specifications.
  • Perform quality audits of laboratory and production work instructions to ensure compliance to our Quality Policy.
Qualifications
  • 1+ years of experience
  • Associate's degree or higher from a Two (2) year accredited college or technical school; or two (2) years related training.
  • Work overtime, weekends, and off-shifts.
  • Possess ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
