DescriptionThe primary function of this position is to analyze and approve samples received in the lab in accordance with Coim USA's Quality Management System, which is registered to ISO 9001. This includes creating and maintaining all of the products files and records, lab equipment and chemicals as specified by Standard Operating Procedures and Analytical Methods. All operations are to be completed with safety, proper PPE and following Coim USA safety procedures.JOB FUNCTION
- Perform various wet and instrumental analytical testing and other laboratory work connected with production samples (raw material, in-process samples and finished goods), R&D and customer samples.
- Follow QC lab standard and calibration procedures. Report non-conformities to supervisor immediately.
- Document all issues with Raw Materials and Finished Goods thoroughly in the folder and report these to the supervisor.
- Prepare standard stock solutions for analytical methods.
- Maintain laboratory workspace, equipment, and instrumentation in a clean, operational condition.
- Assist as directed by QC Lab Manager for non-conforming products, customer complaints investigation and other special projects, as requested.
- Assist with keeping the lab fully stocked; including reporting low levels of supplies, checking the inventory, putting away newly received supplies and stock rotation.
- Maintain product retains according to SOP; record product information in file, store samples, dispose of old retains.
- Work with R&D, production, customer service and shipping & receiving personnel to provide quality products and service to customers, following ISO 9001 standard and company procedures.
Requirements
- High school diploma required; some college required or college level chemistry or related courses with 0-3 years' relevant experience.
- Previous experience with titrator (colorimetric, potentiometric, Karl Fischer), viscometer, colorimeter, pH meter, FTIR, NIR, DSC, HPLC, GC, GPC, NMR, ICP is preferred.
- Direct plant experience in a chemical or pharmaceutical environment is a plus.
- Must be detail-oriented and able to work independently and be able to multi-task.
- Strong computer skill in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Experience with lab software and ERP such as Microsoft Dynamics NAV is a plus.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
