It specializes exclusively in the design and application of conveyors which will not only contain dust and spilled materials but will also automatically reload that material back on the carrying surface of the belt.The OpportunityThe Quality Control Technician is responsible for visually inspecting and testing products at various stages of production to ensure they meet quality standards, including safety regulations, by inspecting production units in various stages of production identifying defects, documenting findings, and reporting issues to relevant personnel to maintain product quality and compliance.The TeamThe role will report to the Production Manager and work with other members of the team.Responsibilities
- Verify drawings and pedigree, layout drawing, and quote all match each other.
- Visually examine raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods for defects or inconsistencies using various inspection tools and techniques.
- Develop and perform standardized tests on products to measure critical parameters.
- Record test results, analyzing data for trends and patterns, and identifying potential quality issues.
- Prepare detailed reports on inspection findings, non-conforming products, and corrective actions taken.
- Maintain and calibrate testing equipment (measurement, torque, etc.) to ensure accuracy.
- Observe production processes to identify potential quality issues and recommend adjustments as needed.
- Create and maintain quality control checklists for each product type and functional department.
- Review warranty and customer feedback data and spearhead root cause analysis and continuous opportunities.
- Investigate quality issues, identifying root causes, and propose corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Lead QC steering committee and meet regularly with other team members to ensure that issues are prioritized and are being resolved with appropriate corrective actions.
- Work with production teams, engineers, and management to address quality concerns and implement improvements.
- Develop, track, and report pertinent quality metrics.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
- 3- 5 years of quality control and manufacturing experience required.
- Knowledge of welding and metal fabrication processes generally gained with 3+ years of experience.
- Proficiency using a CAD viewer, Microsoft Excel and Word is mandatory.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints required.
- Ability to carefully inspect products and identify even minor defects.
- Understanding of testing procedures, quality standards, and relevant industry regulations.
- Ability to interpret test results and analyze data to identify trends.
- Identifying the root cause of quality issues and proposing effective solutions.
- Ability to accurately record inspection findings and maintain detailed reports.
- Ability to understand different jobs and to have a willingness to be cross-trained.
