About the Job
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Quality Director to lead the Process and Quality Engineering teams. The successful candidate will develop, implement, and coordinate quality and process improvement activities aimed at optimizing productivity and yields, reducing material non-conformance, and managing costs. This role also oversees customer support activities, including complaint resolution, RMA management, and technical support for product specifications and applications.
Primary Duties
- Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to all safety rules and policies to protect stakeholders from hazards and injuries.
- Goal Setting: Establish and review departmental goals and action plans for quality, productivity, yield improvement, continuous improvement, and preventive quality measures.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Production, Production Control, Sales, and Marketing teams to drive quality initiatives.
- Customer Engagement: Interface with customers to define and maintain product acceptance criteria and provide technical support.
- Process Controls: Develop, review, and maintain process controls to support product acceptance standards.
- Non-Conformance Management: Investigate product non-conformance issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Continuous Improvement: Monitor quality trends and facilitate improvement initiatives and team problem-solving efforts.
- ISO Representation: Act as the ISO 9001 Management Representative.
- Complaint Resolution: Administer the customer complaint system, manage RMA disposition, and follow up on corrective action effectiveness.
- Customer Support: Resolve chronic quality issues and provide on-site support for critical problems requiring immediate attention.
- Team Leadership: Provide guidance to Quality Engineers for process optimization and equipment capability utilization.
- Budget Management: Develop and maintain departmental budgets.
- Safety Leadership: Ensure high safety performance within the department.
- Training and Development: Provide training and development opportunities for team members.
- Quality Compliance: Manage compliance with the organization's Quality Management System (QMS).
- Other Duties: Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred; minimum of 7 years relevant experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- ISO 9001 Internal Auditor Certification.
- Current knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or IEC 17025.
Skills Requirements
- Proven ability to develop and maintain a QMS structure.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
- Financial acumen, including budget monitoring and planning.
- Expertise in quality processes and problem-solving.
- Knowledge of Quality Management System measurements, analysis, and basic/intermediate statistics.
- Familiarity with automotive IATF 16949 standards is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, SharePoint).
- Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Ability to plan work and collaborate effectively across teams.
- Must be fluent in English for all business-related transactions.
Work Environment
- Predominantly office-based with frequent time spent in production facilities.
- Occasional travel required.
